To my letters of the 7th & 12th ult. I do myself the honor to inclose a
copy of a letter which I have received from the Postmaster General of the United
States, accompanied by a draft of a Postal Convention which he proposes to enter into with the Government of this Colony for regulating the exchange of Mails by means of the Pacific Mail Company's Steamers between the United States and Hongkong and the Ports immediately dependent on it, viz: Canton, Swatow, Amoy
and Foochow.
